Invisible Bars
Another day is wasted.
Sitting in a lifeless room,
Functioning only as a bitter solitary confinement.
White walls stained with nicotine,
Incarcerate my emotions within their boundaries.
The window frames a picture,
Of everywhere I can’t take myself.
Just outside the wooden door is
This strange place…
Where no one is allowed to be,
That person that these walls see.
Disasterpiece
They were artwork.
Color theory at its finest.
Beautiful and complicated they stood.
Captured in watercolor was a scene of,
True love, bathed in laughter and happiness.
The artists piece was hung high and proud,
For all to see.
Two characters. Two personalities.
Forever locked in a staring contest of the heart.
Never parting, they grew distressed,
And smothered by the other.
Emotions possessed them. Humanity sank in.
Pain escapes…
Tears flowed slowly over time.
Distorting the original true image.
Watercolor waterworks grew steady.
Creating a black-brown puddle,
Beneath what was.
A masterpiece, sabotaged and destroyed,
From the inside out.
Audio Bandage
Storms are coming again.
He can feel it.
These rains find their way to him, every now and then.
Another night of drowning in this bedroom.
Suffocation is here.
Fight back with a loud boom.
The dam breaks, hear it echo.
Oh no.
Just amp up the tempo.
His body reacts without prior direction.
The air becomes an instrument.
Head banging in perfect time, showing his rhythmic affection.
Tears battled away by each melodic phrase.
A bass line is all he needs.
Emotions have been beaten back, into a foggy haze.
Only a single tear falls, caught by heavy strings.
Music is his only defense.
Despair and agony’s blows are blocked by heavy-metal chain-mail rings.
Jail Break
What more could I possibly say?
Run Away
There seems to be no magic words, no special rhyme, no fabled charms or persons to pay.
In need of something new, a book, a spell, crystal or stone.
A something that can show you that you never truly have to be alone.
Run Away
Lean on me, and please remember,
The reasons why you and I,
Became so close, this past December.
Run Away
Look around you, way up into the stars.
There is nothing preventing you, no metal bars,
From being where you want to be.
Run Away
Dawn is approaching. Run far, and run fast.
Whatever you do, just make every second last.
Fine Arts
The brush catches fresh paint,
A bedroom once filled with clean white canvas walls,
Now stands engulfed in her work of art.
Red-stained bristles,
Create the scenes of her masterpiece.
With a smile and a sigh,
Her body collapses to the floor.
Paint still flowing from her frail wrists.
She is pleased.
…She put her whole heart into this one.
Hear No Evil
It’s unreal how much my tongue stings.
Soon biting won’t be enough to silence myself.
Quiet will be a thing of yesterday.
Tomorrow, I will unleash this most devastating of words from behind these lips.
Tremble in fear as I do.
For “Love”, will destroy us all.
Unnatural Disaster
The tapping of the light rain upon my window,
exploding in this still silence.
Havoc dances through my head, enjoying my disoriented state of mind.
Ravaging the senses is this ‘emotion’,
this ‘humanity’.
Another tear falls from her unshielded eyes,
and as it hits the floor,
another tsunami destroys me…
Scars Are Just A Timeline
Her razor blade eyes,
Carving the name of their owner,
Forever scarring it into my bleeding heart.
I can feel those letters every time it beats.
Each curve of every mark, stirs a new memory.
And when it’s pulse quickens, you overtake me.
Every racing PAT-PAT, screams your name in my head.
Those two eyes have cut me so deep,
My heart will never be free of your name.
…And I’d have it no other way.
A Mental Plague
And his neck is broken.
From wearing those two ton eyes.
His face cannot grace the world…
Much less, the skies.
Look up, brother.
The clouds have that ‘silver lining’, right?
